The Betty Riseley Trust was created to support children and young people under 18 in Surrey, with a special focus on Cranleigh, a place close to Betty’s heart. Since its formation in 2009, the Trust has donated over half a million pounds to local projects, making a lasting difference in the lives of young people.
Our grants have funded a wide range of initiatives, from improving scout huts to helping child refugees settle into school, supporting Mother & Toddler groups, and installing playground equipment. We are proud to play a part in building stronger communities and brighter futures for children in the area.
We welcome applications from schools, clubs, playgroups, Scouts, Brownies, youth sports teams, parish councils, and other local groups. If your project supports children and young people in Surrey, we’d love to hear from you. Applications are considered twice a year, in April and October, with deadlines on the 1st of April and the 1st of October.
While we prefer to fund specific projects, we assess each application on its individual merits. We also love to see the impact of our grants, so we encourage recipients to share photos and reports once their projects are complete.
If you’re part of a group making a difference for young people in Surrey, apply today and help us continue Betty’s legacy.
